This was a costume I initially made for a performance at Sakuracon 2024 with the Sakura Rangers where we were combining the plot and characters of Sonic Adventure 2 with Lady Gaga songs for a musical halftime show (Watch the performance here) and it became my favorite cosplay to wear for a solid year and a half. Part of that is the fantastic memories I associate with it and the other is how freaking powerful it makes me feel, something about the corset and jacket combo.

Made from black textures pleather for the corset with cotton canvas lining and spiral steel bones. The jacket is an odd printed faux suede I found in my stash, lined with hot pink shantung. The pattern was modified with a crescent moon shaped piece at the top of the arm to give a sharp/more dramatic shoulder. The chest piece is 6mm HDfoam from SKS Props and was my FIRST TIME MAKING FOAM ARMOUR WOOO! It’s a simple 4 piece heart with curves for the chest, made with a masking tape pattern. Painted with pink glitter spray paint (and fully sealed) I glued fur around the edge and stitched two large safety pins into the top so I could pin in to the corset without needing permanent attachments in the corset itself. Boot covers are pleather tubes with elastic at the top and a strap at the bottom to hold them on place. The wings are made from 16 and 14 gauge steel wire twisted together for strength and formed into a “U” shape that tucks into the corset before shaping the top of the wings. Wing covers are 2 layers of fabric sewn together at the top with a channel made fore the wire to go through, I added a layer of light batting to give the wings a little more weight and to make the stitched detail lines more visible when I added them. Ears were wire and fur, shaved down and painted, wig was and old wig I chopped, curled, and styled the bangs of. Leggings, gloves, and shoes from my closet.
