Chii is a character that means so much to me and this dress has lived a LONG life, being worn by multiple people from 2012 to 2020, a couple dozen times. The Chii dress was the last cosplay my Mom made for me while I was still learning. I later remade the bodice of the pink dress and made the matching black version for Freya the next year for a friend and I to participate in Sakuracon’s Cosplay Chess. Long story short, these dresses helped me find some of the people I still perform with over 10 years later.
Made from polyester bridal satin, 20 yards per dress. I learned what a ruffle foot was (for my sewing machine) while making these and never looked back.
